REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9775 ANTI-CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ACT OF 2009

The Philippines is one of the leading countries wherein child pornography is a widespread business within those in the poverty line

Sexual exploitation rose from 19,000 in 2019 to 47,937 in 2020, when the Philippines went on varying degrees of quarantine restrictions to halt the pandemic. The median age of those involved in these transactions is 11 years old.

There are many cases wherein students are the ones selling their nudes or their body for their living or educational expense. That is why lawmakers urged Congress to tackle measures in strengthening the Republic Act No. 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 amid reports of students selling their sensual photos and videos to raise money for distance learning expenses.

The main purpose or gist of this Republic Act is to recognize the vital role of the youth and to promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
